Wired's Top Ten Products That Helped Them Forget 2008

Each end of the year brings us list after list of things that defined whatever category the list is based on. Since we're focused on gadgets, here are the top 10 devices that made Wired forget 2008. I'm quoting number 10 because it's something we featured a while back:

Take the Peek, which tackles just a single task: mobile email. No phone, no browser, no camera—and no apologies. It won't satisfy convergence-rabid smartphone fetishists, but for the rest of the world (i.e., the majority of it), this one-trick pony is a godsend. In terms of looks, its slim profile stands up to the big boys.

It highlights the ease of use and accessibility of the device, which is why it's so noteworthy. The Peek knows its purpose. That's more than I can say for the multitude of smartphones and all-in-one gadgets out there. For the rest of the list, hit the source. You might even find something you'd be interested in acquiring.
