Games: Digital Distribution Services Reviewed

PC gaming has long taken a new approach when it comes to selling titles: digital distribution. ExtremeTech takes a look at the services that offer games by the download and reviews them accordingly. Is this the future of PC game distribution? If so, which service is the best?

As far as content goes, Direct2Drive has the competition all locked up. Just about every AAA title ends up on the service, and you can nab them the moment they're available. This service from IGN is among the oldest game download services of its type, and it has a massive following.

Head over to the source for the rest of the list. Steam and newcomer Good Old Games are among the contenders, so don't think that what you're using was left out. And if you don't like digital distribution, you can always go retail. Hey, if old school works, why reinvent the wheel, right?
