Dell Fries(?), Hasbro Burns, Sony Unveils

This sounds like a day of machines getting back on their users.

A Dell 17-inch laptop user has reported that his laptop fries him by sending out "19 and 65 volts of AC out of any screw on the bottom of the laptop". The reported culprit was an Inspiron 9400, who also included his RAM and video card among the victims of the shocking incident. Similar events have been reported on the Inspiron 6400. There has been no word from Dell regarding the issue.

Unlike Dell, Hasbro recalled almost 1 million Easy-Bake Ovens over reports of children getting their hands or fingers stuck in the oven's opening and getting burned in the process. The toy maker said that there have been "29 reports of children getting their hands or fingers caught in the oven’s opening, including five reports of burns". To make amends, customers can contact Easy-Bake to get a free retrofit kit that will resolve the problem.

In other news, Sony unveiled new Walkman Phones:

The W880/W888 and W610 build on the success of hit-models such as the W810 and to broaden the appeal of the Walkman® phone. 20 million Walkman® phones have been sold to date. Sony Ericsson also announces a suite of music accessories designed to enhance the Walkman® phone listening experience.

The included 1GB memory stick allows for 900 songs and, true to its Walkman nature, the phone has several music applications to cater to the needs of today's audiophiles. It also has a 2 megapixel camera. Not bad for a phone that's "as slim as a standard CD case". Hopefully, we won't hear about any recalls or mishaps on this one.
